I have a Suzuki C-50 05 model. I am looking for a wiring diagram of the ignition switch with the color coding on it. The reason for this is when the key is turned all the way back beyond locking the front end at an angle, it goes into this last step that locks the front end ‘and’ turns the tail light on and stays that way even if you pull out the key. I want to use that power source (disconnecting the tail light) and hook it to a anti-theft device I have. It would be really clean and neat using this as my power source rather than running another off/on switch. |
Good idea but I just looked at the wiring diagram and you cant use it. It is the brown wire but it is also used on the other ignition switch key positions cutting it will disable the rear light while riding and if you tap it the alarm will be on while your riding. I have 35 years of electronic wiring experience so I kinda know my way around diagrams. What will work is a 12 volt relay that has a normally closed contacts. Wire the relay to a key on power source, say like in the headlight shell, the turn signal running light feed or if you have a light bat use that feed, you can mount the relay in there too, Velcro it. Wire the alarm through the relay's normal closed contacts. Example is below. Here is a link that will explain it better then I can . Hope I helped

and not confused you
