That is a weird one. The Clock should be wired to a constant hot wire. It shouldn't be off the ignition. I don't know of any battery other then the bike's battery. Did you call the service department at your stealer?

Oh, I would pull off the speed odmeter assembly and check the plug connections. Other then that, I'm at a loss.
