 Need some help with a GS
Alright, I'll pose the question first and let y'all read the story if y'all want.
So the question is: Can I interchange ignitors on 2 cylinder motors? Say from a GS500 (I think thats 2 cyl) to a GS450? GS250 to 450? If not, anything smaller to that? Perhaps install a Kawasaki or Honda ignitor on a GS450?
Hey there, I was recently given a 1980 (or 79 or 81, I don't know because everything is scratched off) GS450 and it ain't running. I think I've traced the problem (not sparking) to the electrical system. It doesn't use points. I believe that the ignitor has gone out. Now I got a quote from a guy saying that a new ignitor was gonna run me 300 bucks. The bike ain't worth that.This is my first bike, I'd love to get it running, and it might be my only hope to learn to ride in the next few years.
