That is my point, there is no recent data and motorcycling is so different now in the U.S. (and I think Canada, please jump in if you think this a bad assumption) than it was in 1979. There are many factors involved in safety, and I think focussing on helmets to the exclusion of everything else (which I am not accusing you of doing, but some organizations are guilty) is doing a disservice to the motorcycling community.
