Hmmmm,,,make sure you have it documented that you performed the initial service yourself at 600 mile mark. Then if you take it in to get it serviced they can check over the rest for you. Next scheduled service should be at 4000 miles. You need to document home maintenance with dates, mileage, and receipts of materials so that you can back up your "Required" service in case of a warranty problem.
I take my bike in for it's scheduled service as required every four thousand miles,, but every two thoudsand I change my oil and filter. Here is what I have done so far.
750 miles -- dealer performed initial service for breakin
2500 miles -- took it in for an oil change
4000 miles -- took it in for it's scheduled service
I have 4500 miles on it right now,,, at 6000 miles I will change the oil myself.
Alot of overkill,,,, maybe,,but every car I have ever had has lasted me well into the hundreds of thousands of miles,, 1997 Dodge Ram 3500 --- 433,000 miles before it got totaled,,, 1997 Mercury Gran Marquis --- 174,000 miles still going strong,, 1988 Dodge Ram Van w/ 318 engine --- 660,000 miles,,and I have several others. All with the original engines and all I ever did was keep up with the maintenance.
I am shooting for 150,000 to 250,000 miles with this bike or more.
