Yep. Here in CenTex, when the forecast calls 80-90% chance of rain, it may rain. When it says 40% chance of rain, it's going to rain. The rain usually doesn't last longer than 5 minutes, though.

I have only been riding for 6-7 weeks [1350 miles]. I am still getting used to cornering and all that jazz.. so I'd rather be quite skilled at dry riding when I tackle the wet.

David Hough's Proficient Motorcycling is a must-read, for anyone who hasn't had the opportunity, by the way!
