By Captain Crash I love menus. A menu is like a world of possibilities. Recently I was at place in Kansas City called “Mama’s 39th Street Dinerâ€. You want to see a menu? They go a menu. Good chow. Loads of good chow. They have a cake display up front that knocks you out—made myself sick on carrot cake, but it was worth it. (more...)... more.

by Brent Allen (Bob's Son) Our experiences shape who we are as motorcyclists. We are the sum of our experiences. Every ride adds to who we are and can change the way we look at the world. My first cognizant motorcycling memory is from inside the family car. (more...)... more.

by Clinton A. Buhs (RowdyRed94) The mercury cleared 50 degrees in my Minnesota city just before the sun broke through the hazy sky. It was early afternoon and a breeze blew lightly from the west. The road called, so I put away my lawn rake and pulled on my riding gear. (more...)... more.

by "Big" Al, Motorcycle-Journal member “I think we’ll have another slice of pieâ€, as he cuddled with his new wife having swapped out the old wife 2 years before meeting and falling head over heels for this, his second. Quite an upgrade in the looks department and a biker to boot I thought. Their love was still fresh, and tart and hinted of renewal like the last bite of summer... more.

by Roger "wildwolf", Motorcycle-Journal member After nearly 3 years of begging and pleading, when I was 10 years old my mom finally broke down and bought me a used motorcycle. It was a 50cc Honda, with 3 gears and a shift pattern of N-1-2-3 with a cable clutch. The first time I laid eyes on it, I knew then it was the most beautiful motorcycle in the world: I had to have it. Lucky for me, my mom... more.

There are a few people on here and other forums that have occasionally asked for the contents of a basic riders course from the MSF. Well, i am taking one right now, and would like to share my experiences in a 3 installment thread, which would hopefully let others know about what is in the course and possibly to persuade them to take it. DAY 1 I left my house at about 3PM to get to Farleigh Di... more.

The Schuberth S1 Full-Face Helmet – inspiron (Jim) of M-J.com

A Bit of Background I've been wearing motorcycle helmets for about 14 years. When I started out on two wheels, I was riding a 50ccm roller (Piaggio Vespa), with a top speed of 50kmh/35mph. I needed to wear a helmet (there are mandatory helmet laws in most of Europe), and bought the cheapest lid I could find. Usually a low-end full-face. (more...)... more.

Ok, I know the old saying "it is just like riding a bike". Well let me point out that riding a motorcycle is not just like riding a bike. You just don't hop on and go. You have to constantly ride and keep proficient in order to keep your skills up. Too many times we see people who post on message boards that they "used to" ride about ten years ago and that they are jumping into it again with a C9... more.
