Thanks for your comments, Andrew. Don't get me wrong though. I love my bike with all my heart and I feel bad for her that I even wrote the article. However I was just trying to point out that "Cruiser Marketing" may intice riders into buying a cruiser without knowing all the options. I also love wrenching my own bike. I took it to the dealer for the first and last time for the first service, and have done all the maintenance since, myself. Did you join the forums?

I think you are looking at your cruiser in the wrong manner. I think what really matters is how does your bike make you feel when you ride it. do you feel proud of her ? are you comfortable while you are riding her ? i personally think you have a very nice bike. i also am not into assless leather chaps and chroming out my bike with crap. I just luv the way my intruder makes me feel, i think she is really nice looking in stock dress and she performs very well for me.

im not comfortable on a sportbike, i think they look awesome but like you said they arent great for the long term.

i think for you to truely enjoy your cruiser you should consider working on it mechanicly as if it were a life size model and you can actually ride it. i believe motorcycling is not only riding but also working on your bike. even if that only means changing your oil and antifreeze.
